Workers
When there are hazardous products in a workplace, all workers who work with or near the hazardous products must be trained on 2015. This includes employees, contract workers and volunteer workers. The employer is responsible to ensure that all people who have access to or work with their hazardous products are knowledgeable on 2015.
Supervisors and Managers
Supervisors and Managers by the nature of their role are responsible for people and where they have control over the workplace, must also be knowledgeable on WHMIS.
Self-employed and Contract Workers
Self-employed people can perform both the duties of a worker and as a Supervisor or Manager. They are responsible to take training or educate themselves on WHMIS regulations and the safe work procedures for the hazardous products in their workplace.
